About Joe
Joe grew up on a farm outside Rice Lake, Wisconsin. From an early age, his parents found creative ways to keep a book in his hands.Inspired by Teddy Roosevelt and Karol Wojtyla, Joe has constantly sought adventure. At fourteen, he left home to attend a boarding school. Then studied for the Catholic priesthood. Then went to law school. Then joined the Army, working as a military police officer and attorney.He's ridden unicycles in Minnesota, climbed mountains in Washington, and fought the Taliban in Afghanistan.Joe currently lives in Missouri with his family. When he is not reading a book or trying to play a mandolin, he helps his wife manage seven children and two dogs. "Manage" includes a lot of failing, forgiveness, and love.
